Newcomers to  R/C Helicopters

On joining the club we can offer all the help, advice and tuition you need, including useful advice on suitable equipment for beginners to the hobby.  We have club instructors who will be happy to check your model over during and after construction, and will take you through the setting up procedures and pre-flight checks.

When you're ready for your first flight our instructors can give you coaching if necessary and will help you to safely achieve your first solo hover!

Club Membership

Club membership is £50 (£22 club, £28 BMFA) annually, (Including BMFA insurance ) renewable January 1st. There is a discount for any members joining part way through the year.

If you're thinking of joining, please visit us on a regular flying day for more information, but please phone or text one of the numbers on the contacts page first to make sure someone will be there. we will allow a newcomer bring there heli and help you get it in the air but we must insist that if you make a return visit to the club you will be required to provide your own insurance and pay the club fee or pay full to the club to get your insurance and club membership.

We require all members and guests to have BMFA insurance cover in order to fly.  Insurance is provided to all BMFA members and you can join with instant cover at any time by paying the membership fee to one of our club officials. Discounts run for new members from July each year. If you already have BMFA insurance just show us your membership card on joining the club and the appropriate fee will be deducted.
